The World Will Never be the Same
Despite all of the positive effects of the Industrial Revolution, there were also some negative effects. One of the most important negative effects was pollution during the industrial revolution. Since there was such demand in almost all realms of industry, many factories were built, and the number of cities increased due to the need of housing close to your workplace. The amount of harmful gases and substances released into the environment has led to the depletion of many natural resources. One of the most important being deforestation, or the act of a forest 'disappearing' over time, either due to human or environmental activity. Deforestation doesn't only lead to the destruction of forests, it also leads to the destruction of species. Many species find forests to be home, and once their home is taken away from them, they take critical hits in population, and take a long time adapting to another habitat.
During the industrial revolution, the amount of industry increased due to a rise in demand (to read more about this, go to New Machines and/or Child Labor). One of the main industries that grew was the food industry. Now even though this may seem as a good thing to increase, since an increase in food leads to an increase in population, yet according www.eco-issues.com, it also led to a worldwide increase in obesity. Obesity is a very big problem today, that government is really getting involved in, ranging from interactions of local politicians such as Mayor Bloomberg, or from federal government officials as big as President Obama.
