During this time period child Labor was a developing problem in the United States. The large scale immigration during this time lead to unskilled persons being in the workforce. The poor children worked alongside there parents and eventually industries became dependent on the cheap labor. Since child labor was not uncommon as it is today, it was not looked down upon and in some places it was encouraged. But over generations many activist fought against it and it was eliminated in industries.
